Andy Edwards is an inspiring and motivating professional speaker, facilitator and conference moderator who delivers memorable material on Business Relationships, Understanding Others, Influence, Attitude and Teams.

Having studied Marketing and lectured on the CIM Marketing Diploma, Andy further qualified in Behavioural Psychology and has a Diploma in Coaching.

As the founder of Re£ationomic$ (creating tangible value from business relationships), and APA (Applied Psychometric Awareness), Andy runs training, speaking, personal development and coaching-based events in the UK, Europe USA and the Middle East. These focus on Client Relationships, Team Relationships and Self Relationship (Motivation).

As a leadership trainer, Andy has a unique and effective behavioural approach – and identifies the link between World Class Leadership and Delighted customers. He also developed ‘Project 20’ another distinctive approach – this time focusing on leadership productivity and business results.

Simon has worked in the legal expenses profession since 1989, primarily focusing on underwriting. Simon is also one of the very few legal expenses underwriters to write business in both the Lloyd’s and company markets. He has been involved in promoting and establishing new markets for LPI in jurisdictions around the world.

Simon has worked for AmTrust for the past 10 years and currently runs the underwriting teams across 3 sites in the UK. He had been involved with RIAD since 2010 and on the board since 2013.

Bruno Mascello is appointed Vice Director at the Executive School of Management, Technology and Law (ES-HSG) of the University of St. Gallen. He also is the Director of the two programmes “Wirtschaftsrecht für Manager”, a master programme providing business law expertise to managers, and "Management for the Legal Profession", providing management education to lawyers. Further, he lectures as adjunct professor at both the Executive School and the University of St.Gallen, is a keynote speaker at conferences and researches and publishes about various topics at the intersection of law and management.

Before joining the University of St.Gallen he served at Zurich Financial Services in various leading management positions of the worldwide legal function (i.a., as Chief Operations Officer Group Legal; Regional General Counsel Middle East; General Counsel Corporate Center), after having worked first as a senior attorney in law firms focused on international corporate and business law.

Bruno Mascello studied law at the faculty of law (lic.iur./masters of laws), earned a Ph.D. (Dr.iur.) and completed an Executive MBA at the University of St.Gallen. He also holds an LL.M. in Comparative Jurisprudence from New York University School of Law. He is admitted to the Swiss Bar and provides legal and legal management consulting services.

After positions in management consulting, he was significantly involved in the development of the strategic orientation of the ROLAND Group over the last few years. Janine Nanninga

Janine Nanninga has worked in the legal protection insurance since 1992 and is deputy director of D.A.S. The Netherlands. She is responsible for Claims management, Knowledge management and mediation.

Janine Nanninga was born in 1962 and has a bachelor in hotel management (Maastricht 1984) and a bachelor and master's degree in dutch law (university of Amsterdam 1989). She started her career as a in house lawyer at a consumer organisation. After a few years she went to D.A.S. legal insurance to practice law for several years, became responsable for several department of DAS (p.a. quality and complaint management, pricing and underwriting, callcenter for legal advice.

Janine is married, had two children and lives in Naarden (The Netherlands).

Dr. Pierre-Dominique studied law at the Faculty of law of Lausanne (lic. Iur/master of laws) and earned a Ph. D (Dr. Iur) in 1987. He has been practicing law in Geneva and Lausanne for more than thirty years mainly in the field of civil liability, commercial law and white collar crime.

He has presided the Bar of the Canton the Vaud and served, from 2013 until 2015, as President of the Swiss Bar Association.

Since 2016, he is member of the Swiss delegation to the CCBE.

Nicolas Zavalichine has been CEO of AXA Legal Protection since March 2016. He graduated from the Institut de Statistique de l'Université de Paris – ISUP, started his career in 1988 as market rates analyst for Banque Eurofin and joined the AXA Group in 1997 where he has held numerous high-level management positions. His responsibilities were, for instance, the development of IT strategies as well as the implementation of digitalization, organisation of the distribution network, management and tactical orientation of customer value and strategies on group level. As CEO of AXA Legal Protection and with his profound knowledge and background in insurance, Nicolas Zavalichine has a firm grasp of ongoing developments and their potentially disruptive impact on the legal protection market. It is his responsibility to think ahead for his company, anticipate the impact of globally emerging economic, digital, and legal trends and prepare his company for the future.

Dr. iur. Petra Arends-Paltzer is trained as a lawyer and a banker. She studied law in Bonn, Lausanne, Wurzburg & Berlin and worked as a lawyer, banker and project manager mainly in legal and financial industries. She has a PhD in copyright law from the FU Berlin.

She initially worked as an inhouse counsel and later as a banker. She worked at Dresdner Bank, Citibank, UBS and J.P. Morgan and organised major international projects in the US, UK, Asia and Europe.

She was a member of the UBS brand management team and has more than 15 years of professional experience in (digital) marketing, communication and social media.

For several years, she has been advising lawyers on the implementation of new, digital business models for the acquisition of clients and the development of digital online presences. In co-operation with LegalTech, she also offers advise on transforming legal services into ready-made products (“Smart Contracts’, ‘Design Thinking’, using blockchain technologies). She is a member of Viadrina Universities Legal Tech Centre, the founder of Lawyer Marketing and co-founder of the Swiss Legal Tech Conference.

JUDr. Tomáš Borec is currently the President of the Slovak Bar Association and Managing Partner at Borec & Bohunský Law Firm. JUDr. Borec held the office of a Minister of Justice of the Slovak Republic from 2012 to 2016. This is his second term of office as the Slovak Bar Association President. JUDr. Borec is an arbitrator at the Slovak Chamber of Commerce Arbitration Court.

Before joining PwC he worked for an IT consulting company focusing on the implementation of risk management systems for insurance companies and banks in Austria, Germany and Eastern Europe.

Jan is the co-founder of a legal assistant for holidaymakers (www.holiday-hero.de). Its goal is to provide simple and risk-free help with a deficient holiday. The product is designed to make the handling of a holiday problem as easy as booking it.

In addition, Jan and his brother Niclas founded the Legal Tech Team (www.legaltechteam.com). Together with other team members, they report first-hand on their founding experience in the field of legal tech.

Jan regularly gives talks on the digital transformation of legal services. He has worked both as a lawyer and as a strategy consultant. As a consultant he has supported large corporations in the digitalization of business processes, in particular through the use of automation and artificial intelligence. Jan has gained several years of experience in various functions at renowned law firms as well as in courts, public authorities and legal departments.

Jan’s motivation is to bring data-driven technology to the legal services market in order to improve the quality of results and help more people enforce their rights.

On a personal level, Lex is a serial entrepreneur, engineer and internet marketer. Recently, he has been ranked as one of the top 10 insurtech influencers on social media, and he serves as a mentor in the Munich-based W1 InsurTech Accelerator program, which is backed by major German insurers. In the past, Lex worked in the insurance industry for more than five years as a claims representative and was one of the award winners of the HSBC Young Entrepreneur Award and Erasmus For Young Entrepreneurs Award.

Michael Carl is the Managing Director of Europe’s biggest independent future institute, 2b AHEAD ThinkTank GmbH, based in Leipzig. He is responsible for the content of the publications of the institute. Mr Carl’s experience at 2b AHEAD consists of setting up and managing research projects and teams, executing numerous publications and providing keynote speeches.

In addition to this, Mr Carl is also a Freelance Consultant in the fields of systemic consulting, organisational development, teambuilding and leadership coaching. In 2008 to 2015 he was appointed Manager Strategy Officer at rbb in Potsdam; this involved managing strategic projects to evolve multimedia journalism and developing a human resource strategy. He focused on communication, moderation of internal events around topics of change, counselling of change- and worked on strategy-processes within different teams.

Prior to this, Mr Carl’s role at rbb was that of the Personal Advisor to the Radio Director, which consisted of organisational development and strategy, media politics and budget planning. He was also member of the tariff commission and editor of several corporate publications. Whilst at rbb, Mr Carl was editor and journalist of: the morning show, weekly talkshow and daily magazines, specialising in breaking news programmes. Mr Carl’s professional career also extends to working as a freelance journalist, reporter and moderator at MDR Sputnik and MDR JUMP.

Michael Carl received his diploma at Evangelische Kirche in Hessen und Nassau on November 20th, 1996, achieving a 1,8 grade.

Herman Buyssens

Herman Buyssens has been a lawyer at Antwerp Bar Association since 1973. He specialises in employment law, social security law and all related aspects of business, company and criminal law. He has gained exceptional experience over more than 40 years in the different domains of individual and collective employment law, as well as in social security law. He assists both employers and employees, but also self-employed persons and company directors with advisory services or in (appeal) court proceedings. He also acts as mediator and arbitrator in these disciplines, and handles trading practice disputes principally related to employees transferring to competing companies.

Mr Buyssens is former dean of the Antwerp Bar Association and is currently Head of the Belgian delegation CCBE, Head of Employment Law Section at Antwerp Bar Association, Chief Editor of Today’s Lawyer and Head of the Commission International Relations of the Antwerp Bar. Furthermore, he is a member of the following organisations: General Assembly of the Flemish Bar Council, Insurance Working Group CCBE, Access to Justice Committee CCBE, Antwerp Employment Law Association, Editorial board of Rechtskundig Weekblad (employment and social security law), Deontology Committee of the Flemish Bar Association and member of the steering committee of the postgraduate Employment Law Training, University of Antwerp.

Herman Buyssens is a highly regarded speaker at law seminars and has written a large number of publications. Additionally, Mr Buyssens is a lecturer of professional training in employment law at the Antwerp, Turnhout and Mechelen Bar Associations.

He studied business administration at the University of Passau.

During 2007 to 2014 Mr Brune was a member of the Management Board of AXA Versicherung AG, Cologne and DBV Deutsche Beamtenversicherung AG, Wiesbaden.

Previous to this he was Division Manager P&C Retail, AXA Versicherung, Cologne (2004 - 2007), Head of Motor, AXA Versicherung, Cologne (1997 - 2003), Assistant to the Board of Directors in the private and commercial customer business at Colonia-Nordstern Versicherung, Cologne (1995 - 1997) and Specialist Industrial Property Policy and Product Development at Nordstern Versicherung, Cologne (1993 -1995).

Gabriele Zgubic-Engleder (JG 1966) studied law in Linz. In the 1990s she was a consumer and environmental policy officer at the Upper Austrian Chamber of Labour, assistant to an Austrian member of parliament to the European Parliament and a consumer policy officer in the cabinet of Women's Minister Barbara Prammer. In 1999 she moved to the Austrian Federal Financing Agency. Since 2010 she has been Head of the Consumer Policy Department at the Vienna Chamber of Labour. She is also Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Association for Consumer Information and a member of the European Consumer Consultative Group at the European Commission. From 2011 to 2016 she was a member of the Securities and Markets Stakeholders Group of the European Securities and Markets Authority.

Henrik A. Jensen is an experienced lawyer and has been admitted to the Supreme Court of Norway. Henrik founded and is an active owner of two law firms (Legalis and Legal24) and a legal insurance company (Legal Insurance Group) in Norway and Scandinavia. He is also doing Litigation Funding in the Nordics through the company Therium Nordic AS. Henrik completed his first degree in law in Oslo, followed by a Master of Law at the Max-Planck-Institute in Munich, with a thesis in EU copyright-law.
